It was recently in the news, that we all take a lot of vitamin supplements while this first A balanced and healthy diet is the basis of everything and that ensures that the ideal proportions of vitamins are present in
our body. In fact, we might wonder why many gardeners always tend to add things, to intervene in the process of nature. It started with artificial fertilizers, then with organic fertilizers and then with the Creating vulture, and adding a mix of Effective Microorganisms, commonly called EM. On any bag of garden and cuttings soil today it is mentioned that active bacteria have been added to it. A mix that would stick to your soil and your plants healthier
A mix that would also make your soil more resistant to diseases and ailments. But what about that?

Where it is now generally known that artificial fertilizers are not only suboptimal, but also harmful to soil/plant and climate, so far this cannot be said of EM. But EM get a separate chapter in even good books such as “The Soil Food Web” and “Soil Balance”, and may or may not be promoted with some reservations. However, what is missing is even the only scientific basis. It is not because micro-organisms in the soil are vital , that its application in our ecological vegetable garden is also a good thing or that its success is guaranteed. Just like the vitamins in our body.
