1/2 paper panela
1/2 sugar
1 sliver of cinnamon
And cloves
Wash well the pumpkin, zapayo or auyama as it is known in Venezuela, the auyama is peeled and seeds removed, the pulp is cut into cubes of the same size or if you like you can scratch it, then it is deposited in one case and added sugar.
Note; Seeds can be saved for roasting and used in a variety of recipes, as they bring many health benefits.
The auyama is cooked over medium heat. When the auyama is soft, sugar is added to the paper, or make the cinnamon sliver and cloves.
When a syrup begins to form and golden brown, we can say that the sweet is ready.
It's a quick and easy candy to make, and with few ingredients.
