Against the ground rules - backlighting photography

Always shoot with the sun in the back. Well okay, you can also with the sun on the side. you know, we just shoot with the light right in front every now and then! Why all of a sudden you might wonder? Because it allows you to achieve such beautiful effects. Such as silhouettes, star shapes and lens flair. 

General tips for backlight photography

If it's possible on your camera, it's useful to keep your light measurement on ' point measurement 'put. Otherwise with your camera the average of the image, and then the subject will always be too dark.

If you have a gray-gradient filter, it now comes in handy.

Use your liveview on your screen instead of through the viewfinder, and don't look in the bright light.

Silhouettes

You know, a subject like a silhouette in the picture. I'll explain how to do that, but also give you tips on how to prevent it if you want to have your subject highlighted in the photo.

Look, that's what I'm doing, I often didn't get a good silhouette, or at least, I didn't like it enough. I'm going to practice!

I always love shooting with backlight, it often produces great beautiful photos.
I'm sure I'm going to practice with shadow and lying against. Have been photographing a lot of times, so it seems nice to apply this as well.

What a good course to maintain the backlight so that the photos come out beautiful.
Working with shadow and against light seems to me a great fun thing to do.
So the next day with sun I'm going to try it out.
