Three weeks ago, it was again possible to visit the Beekberger Forest near Apeldoorn.
A large part of the Beekberger Forest was closed for a few months.
The substructure and decking boards of the wooden decking path were in need of replacement at the end of their life.

With more than 100 hectares, the Beekberger Forest forms a swamp area with now still young so-called alder pants forests and wet grasslands.
It was once the last primeval forest in the Netherlands, until the last tree was felled in 1871.
Natuurmonumenten was able to purchase this area and has been actively restoring nature since 2006.
