“Do you want another big grasshopper in the picture” cried my other half, who cleaned up some broken branches.
Yeah, of course I want to, so I grabbed my camera and stewed down.
“Too late, he's gone”. but luckily I found the grasshopper soon, and I got the chance to take pictures.,

I quickly noticed that the grasshopper's belly shrank together, as if the animal was having contractions.
And I saw a pointed piece that I hadn't seen before with a grasshopper.
When the animal also turned out to be able to warp the whole body, and seemed to lick itself, I started filming instead of shooting.
Nice to see how she pushes the drill back with the legs!

I didn't know which grasshopper this was, and if it was true that she laid eggs, but a facebook group offered a solution.
It's the Great Green Saber grasshopper, and yes, she laid eggs, the pointed part is the laying drill.
So who knows, our garden will soon be full of baby Big green saber grasshoppers!
I don't know if that makes me happy yet, because to grow up, they have to eat a lot.

If I see them, or can find the eggs (that didn't work after shooting), I'll let you know!
For now: enjoy the video and the photos (the video was shot vertically, so it's on its side, but I don't find it disturbing).
