A few years ago, you saw them all over our village... garden gnomes made of tree trunks. Slanting truncated and painted their faces on the oblique saws. Thanks to LegoMasters, I was in such a LEGO mood recently and I came up with an idea to do something else with that 'cubism'. We still had some wood left from the fence, so did the poles, which gave me the inspiration to make Blokgnomes.

In order to not completely take over the idea of the tree trunk gnomes, I wanted to paint or make the LEGO faces on the straight side and my laser engraving machine came in handy.

(More about that later in a next blog!!)

Thanks to Inkscape, I could easily cover the faces of the minifigures and chose a young Blokgnome family of a troubling grown teenage son, the father with the shortest genes and a happy mother gnome with all the teeth in a row. These line drawings I have brought into the program of the laser engraving machine (look for fun if you are really interested, this is the Snapmaker Original 3-in1) and ready to lase, directly on the wooden blocks. Because I can cut through paper at low power, you can make a spray mask using some painting tape on the surfaces to be sprayed.
