Child's play (2019) - Review
Karen (Aubrey Plaza), is a single mother who gives her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a doll for his birthday without being aware of the evil nature that hides inside him.
I will say that this reboot of the saga I like, contains many positive aspects and with arguments valid to make it a more colorful and “realistic” film, as well as entertaining, a film under the direction of Lars Klevberg and with the producers of 'It' (2018).
Quite a different version of the Chucky we're used to seeing. With a whole new story in terms of technology, it just gives it a good twist to make it a good remake overall. The appearance of the doll perhaps one of the weakest points because its characterization is more of the good-looking blonde boy that girls like, although it is a bit ironic to see that in this movie I liked the comedian Chucky much more than the murderer Chucky, because you don't take him seriously as a horror/macabre character although I don't think” frightening” or “rude” either.
Although that appearance of a good child changes with the deaths it causes, they are quite raw and with a dark humor accompanied by the occasional phrase of the doll that went very well for each scene.
