Since the beginning of March 2020, measures have been taken in the Netherlands to combat the Corona virus. The number of people who die from the Corona virus in the Netherlands is still rising. As a result, measures to protect people are tightening up.

The current measures against the expansion of the corona virus in the Netherlands are:

  • Stay home as much as possible.
  • Go outside only for work when you can't work at home, for groceries, or to take care of others.
  • You can get a fresh nose, but do not do this in a group.
  • Always keep away from others (at least 1.5 meters) and avoid social activities and groups of people.
  • Also at home: up to three people visiting and keep distance from each other.
  • If you cough, cough and/or cold: stay at home.
  • If you also get fever and/or stuffiness, everyone in the household should stay at home.
  • Also stay at home if someone else in the household has cold complaints and fever and/or stuffiness.
  • So people stay at home if there are complaints in the family with fever.


The current financial measures for freelancers due to the corona virus in the Netherlands are:

  1. applications for an emergency benefit to the municipality
  2. applications for money can be digitally on the site of its own municipality
  3. single person can receive up to €1,050
  4. freelancers with a partner receive a maximum of €1,500
  5. flexible conditions
  6. afterwards, the correctness of the application is assessed
  7. The Temporary Bridging Scheme for Self-Employed Entrepreneurs has a minimum of 1,225 hours per year.
  8. savings and assets are not taken into account in the assessment
  9. within 4 weeks the money will be in the bank account
