(Corporate) Storytelling
Do you know it? No, not the literal translation. Although it's not far off, it's something else. Storytelling is a technique that is used to let people (often employees of a company) stand behind an implementation or change in work process.
It works like this:
- you use a story that appeals to the imagination in the company (in many cases a story that already lives within this particular company).
- You take this story and describe it in such a way that the company's purpose fits perfectly. So a jacket that's actually put on.
- Often the story builds up and the implementation process is taken into account throughout the story. All steps within the process are placed in the light of this story and thus supported by the employees.
- Because one can easily identify with the story, there is less resistance and a change process often proceeds better.
This process, that experience, it is also used in marketing. Advertising as a story, you feel more like the product if the look matches your experience world.
I love storytelling. It's a completely different way of writing stories, I think it's wonderful to do this for companies so at this one try:
It's always really enjoying that writing style of yours.
