What a wonderful start to this day! A wonderful walk in which I even saw 2 jumps of roe!

This is the first jump (A group of wild boars is called a rotten. Multiple red deer together is a pack. We call a group of deer a jump. Jumps do not occur all year round. That's actually only in the winter period. For the rest of the year, deer live more in small family relationships like a goat with two calves. Bokken usually live separately. The roe is basically a solitary animal.

After the calves are born in the spring, the goat and her offspring join each other during the summer period: the summer jump. Depending on the number of offspring, we see jumps of two or three roe deer standing together. The smalree (calf of the previous year) often joins this.

During the roast — mid-July to mid-August — the goat leaves her calf (s) during the day and goes in search of a strong, healthy goat to take care of the offspring for the next year. The search is mutual, but especially the buck is looking for the goat. In the rusting period, therefore, the goat and goat can be seen at the same time: the goat running after the goat to fog it (mating). After the goat has been herded, she continues to bear the calf (s) born in the spring.
