DIY Sinterklaas chocolate making figures

In the #Saint Nicholas time it is much enjoyed #chocolade . Of course you have chocolate letters, frogs and mice with sweet filling, a marzipan sandwich with chocolate, etc. How nice is to make something yourself out of chocolate? Come up and make something together and then enjoy it!

Ineke van der Linde devises various activities for the children who come to her in the nursery shelter. In addition to reading, reading, crafting and playing, the theme Santa Claus also fits in with the taste buds. It's nice to experience the process of melting chocolate and then see that it will solidify again. She tried out two species. Draw a shape yourself, and work with a silicone shape. About the 1st option you can read the work description here. The 2nd form with a silicone shape works the melt and stol process the same as with the 1st option.

What do you need?

- Callets: these are chocolate “droplets” that used to make chocolate. The advantage is that you can measure exactly what you need. For sale at bake-cooking shops

- Bakeery paper

- Bake

- teaspoon {for smearing chocolate}

- Microwave {or au bain marie in a bowl on top of pan hot water}

- Decoration pens from e.g. dr. Oetker

How to make it - working description free drawing chocolate:

1. Find a nice example and sign it over to parchment paper. Draw only the outer lines. Sign this with, for example, Dr. Oetker's Chocosticks.

2. Make sure that the lines fit perfectly. So there should be no openings in it. Let it get hard for a while.

Melt 15 callets of white chocolate in the microwave at 700 W in 3x 10 seconds. Stir with a spoon until the callets have turned into melted chocolate. Do not heat further or in very small steps. Chocolate can burn very quickly.

4. Then gently pour it into your drawn form and gently lubricate it with the back of a teaspoon in all the “corners” of your shape.

5. You can choose to decorate the mold completely after the chocolate has hardened. I liked to use this “litter” for the mane and you press it directly into the shape.

6. 10 minutes harden in the refrigerator. It'll take a little longer out there.

7. When your shape has hardened, you can decorate it even further with the chocolates of Dr. Oetker.

8. Cie decoration/decoration
