Duncan Laurence: Arcade
Geez, I am totally addicted to the number #Arcade by #DuncanLaurence, which represents our country at the Eurovision Song Contest. It gets even better if you understand why he wrote it and what it is about. Below, his own words mixed with my interpretation of the artistic jacket.
Duncan wrote the song during his Studied at the Rock Academy. It's a story about a loved person he lost because of illness at an early age. Duncan has always struggled to cope with this loss. She had the love of her life, but it was suddenly out of her life. Until the end, she had the hope that The naked underwater scenes (director Paul Bellaard) in the video reflect this: hope. The surface of the water and beyond is, as it were, hope, the light. the dream, the love she longs for. The nude reflects the vulnerability of man, of her. It peels you to the basic elements of our deepest βbeing.β The endless loneliness of a broken love. The hopeless fight with grippy water draws the always lost (love) game.
