Bird of Prey Show Volkspark Rijssen

Every Wednesday afternoon from 14:00 to 15:00 there is a bird of prey show in the Volkspark Rijssen - completely free of charge. 

On this afternoon you can see and hear how the bird handlers fly with these beautiful birds.

So if you want to see how these beautiful birds fly, or if you are a (hobby) photographer, you also have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures of the birds. This is definitely a must for the kids too; they learn a lot about birds of prey and get a close look at these beautiful animals.

Avontura Twentehallen (Enschede)

Avontura represents a day of fun. There's a lot to do: there's a real climbing volcano, a huge network of climbing ropes, tubes, obstacles and slides, a toboggan run, a football field, a space with giant building blocks, an Xbox 360 with kinect games and much more! Tip: go as early as possible in the day. It flows quickly around 12 o'clock!

Infants up to 1 year old: Free


The complex is wheelchair accessible. There is also a microwave to warm up bottle-fed and/or collided milk.

Technology Museum HEIM

Drill up salt with a huge pinball machine, turn a 'nail motor' and take a closer look at that annoying speed camera. This and much more can be found in the various museum halls that deal with textiles, machine and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and telecommunications. The upper floor is designed for children. Play in the Technique Game or get started with K'nex or play in the puzzle corner.

The complex is wheelchair-friendly and has a lift. The lift is not suitable for a scooter. There are wheelchairs available in the museum. Service dogs are also allowed.

Eckberg Court Experience Park

Hof van Eckberge is an experience park. You can play laser tag in the jungle or disco bowling. It doesn't matter if it's raining or not: there's plenty to do both indoors and outdoors. In the mini zoo, follow the 'experience path'. Stroll along cute and special beasts like prairie dogs, nandoes and raccoons. Energies live out on the indoor play and climbing equipment, on the trampolines and the outdoor cable car or romping and playing with water in the beach park. The park has several amenities such as wheelchair-accessible bowling.

Opening hours: During school holidays, the park is open daily from 10:00am. Outside the holidays, weekdays hours vary as follows: Wednesday open until 19:00 - Open Thursdays until 20:00 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday open from 10:00am.

Kids city

Climbing, scrambling and sliding in the large three-storey indoor playground. Dare you past the museum full of pirates and treasures? Tired of playing and dancing at the kids disco? Catch a breath at the children's cinema. There is a private Pamper zone for children up to 4 years old. This is a playground full of soft playground equipment.

When adults arrive before 11:00 on Fridays, the entrance is free. After 11:00 the adults pay the full amount. There is always a free cup of coffee for grandmothers and grandmothers.


Opening hours: open on holiday Mondays and Tuesdays only. Open Wednesdays from 12:00 to 18:00 (during the holidays from 10:00am and until 19:00). Open Thursday until 17:00, holidays until 19:00.

Cobus Play Castle

Children up to 10 years of age have fun all day with slides, a ball pool, crawl pipes, rope bridges and even a scary haunted house. All the way in the ridge of the castle lives Cobus de Uil, who really likes a visit of the children. Bella's Smulhoek allows children and their parents to eat and drink. There is also a swimming pool for children of all ages.

Owls Demonstration Dragonheart

Ever see an owl fly? Or held an owl? Come to the Dragonheart owl demonstration and enjoy these birds in the Owl Garden. Dragonheart staff are happy to explain the different types of owls. Take a look at the medieval Knight Shop! The owl demonstrations are only possible on Wednesdays in March to October.

Toddlers: Free

Prices quoted apply to the owl show. Children up to two years free entrance. 

Pinning is unfortunately not an option.


From March 1 to October 31, Dragonheart will be open on Wednesdays from 14:30 to 17:00, with an owl show at 15:00.

Taman Indonesia

Don't look up if a beautiful Balis preeuw flies by or if a Muntjak, a small deer species, comes along in search of food. In the Taman Indonesia animal park, you'll find lots of special animals from Indonesia.

Children: €5.00 p.p.Toddlers: Free

Children up to two years old free. The children's fee applies to children up to and including 12 years old.


Opening hours: April 1st to October 31st 10:00am to 18:00.

Come to your heart's content in the completely renewed play park het Hoge Boekel. This cozy family park has the best playground equipment. Famous' old 'playground equipment and flashy new attractions: Hoge Boekel offers a fun day away for the whole family. Take an adventurous railway or safari jeep ride through the park, enjoy an adventurous glide across the water in the cable car and try the craziest jumps on the air cushions and trampolines.
