Fatty Liver
It's all about your eating habits that determine whether you're sick or well. The majority of non-communicable illnesses occur due to poor dietary decisions. Fatty liver is a common finding when you get an ultrasound of your abdomen done. The report may come back as a grade from 1 to 4 fatty liver.
What exactly is a fatty liver?
The infiltration of fat into the liver is causing fatty liver. High-fat consumption and deposition of triglycerides will cause it. These tend to irritate the liver, causing it to become dysfunctional over time. Excess fat can trigger inflammation. Prolonged inflammation of the liver will lead to NASH, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
Cirrhosis is a condition where the liver cells are unable to perform their normal functions. Toxic metabolites will accumulate over time. Bleeding disorders may occur with vitamin deficiency. Increased pressure in the portal vein of the abdomen will result in vomiting of blood, fluid retention in the belly, disorientation, and other symptoms.
As a result, a fatty liver is more of an early stage that can reverse back to normal.
Autoimmune disease such as PBC and a removed gallbladder (due to gallstones) also cause a faded liver, not to mention the drugs that overload a liver.
