Fear of the dentist
#consultancy A toothache can have anyone. I've always wondered why teeth cause pain regularly at night?
I had a severe toothache that forced me to take a soothing and wait until the next day to go to the dentist's consultation.
Many people like me feel afraid of the dentist and the very idea of a consultation or visit to the dentist makes us experience a feeling of nervousness before and during the consultation.
We know that attending a review with the dentist is a benefit to our oral health, but thinking that it can cause me severe pain I immediately get a total panic.
I attended the dentist and when I automatically arrived my hands began to sweat, the dentist as a good professional talked to me while checking my mouth. It started by explaining that people like me could have these phobias to dentists because of trauma they caused us when children or teenagers . While explaining the possible causes of my fear, I kept working in my mouth..
Now I think it was a good doctor strategy, because in moments he told me it was over... and I didn't feel any kind of pain..
But whatever the origin of the refusal to the dentist, it is important not to let us invade by fear and get to the point where it prevents us from going to our dentist.

Yo creo que ir al dentista provoca nervios en muchos! Jajaja es que por la máquina que te hace la limpieza (no sé cómo se llama) que tiene un ruido muy agudo jajaja crea cierto temor o nerviosismo

Ik denk dat de angst ook komt, doordat je je moet overgeven aan die tandarts en je zelf daar geen invloed op hebt. Natuurlijk kan het pijn doen, maar er kan ook gewoon een verdoving gebruikt worden zodat het geen of minder pijn doet. Ik werk bij een tandarts, dus zie veel angstige patiënten. Het is fijn om te proberen door afleiding, deze angst te verminderen. Gewoon een praatje over iets anders, even de aandacht verleggen, dat werkt vaak erg goed. Je moet absoluut 2 keer per jaar naar de tandarts gaan, dan blijft veel onder controle en kun je tandpijn voorkomen. Een ontsteking kan altijd spontaan optreden natuurlijk, maar dat gebeurt niet altijd gelukkig! Weg blijven maakt het alleen maar erger, zo wordt de drempel om te gaan steeds groter.........
