Today I want to talk to you about something very interesting that can help you a lot when it comes to studying (Anything!!). And it is the Feynman method
It is named after the famous scientist Richard Feynman , who was a great theoretical physicist who received the Nobel Prize in 1965 for his theory on Quantum Thermodynamics. But not only that, he was also a professor of physics in the California Institute of Technology . And during that stage as a teacher he was very famous among his students for his way of explaining very complex physics theories with a simple and familiar language, which greatly helped his students.
His method was born at the time he realized that everyone was able to understand and memorize any concept however difficult it was, if it was explained in a simple and practical way. Unlike when everything was based on formulas, scientific nomenclatures, complex words and more. So he put that together with his experience as a teacher and he created that method. And today I want to show you!
Step No. 1: Select the topic to study
To start the whole process, you need to select a topic or concept to study. Use a sheet of paper and a pencil, put a title whatever the subject, which was very clear to you from the beginning what you're going to talk about
Step 2: Develop the topic
After you have studied the subject you should try to explain it in that role..
Write everything you remember, schemes, pictures, formulas, quotes, everything that allows you to remember information.
After finishing, explain the topic aloud, as if you were giving a class, with this you will notice your own failures, errors and in general those areas that you still do not handle well
Step 3: Complete the information
Now that you know your weak areas, it's time to study again to reinforce those points that are not yet entirely clear and you don't handle accurately, as well as adding any information that is substantial, and brings life to the topic
Step #4: Rewrite and explain it as if it were for a child
The last step is the most decisive, because it will tell you if you have really learned what you wanted to learn.
In this last step you need to take the information you developed and then corrected and... write it again! (No, it's not a joke)
This time you are going to “translate” all that technical and concrete data into a simple language, which you use every day. Once this is done, you need to explain it out loud, how would you do with a child.
Including any example you think a child would understand.
And with that you would be applying the famous Feynman method, which I assure you will help you to have a lot more knowledge!
