GEORGE FLOYD: African-American killed in police custody in Minneapolis

George Floyd, originally from Houston, was in his hometown in basketball and football.
A name was also made on the local hip-hop scene, where he was more or less known.
George Floyd, 46, was the father of a 6-year-old girl.
But when he moved to Minneapolis he started a new life with a security guard job at the Latin American restaurant Conga Latin Bistro in the city center.
Darnella Frazier passing down the street took out his mobile while attending horrified a scene in which Floyd, handcuffed and unarmed, was unconscious under the pressure of the knee of the police officer who had arrested him.
Apparently Floyd, a former security guard, was trying to pay at a store with a fake $20 ticket.
After begging for his life several times and screaming that he could not breathe, Floyd became inert on the floor.
The 44-year-old white officer who immobilizes Floyd in the video has been identified as Derek Chauvin
“Racism is not getting worse, it's just that now it's being recorded."
With these words, African-American actor Will Smith explained a few years ago how mobile cameras were allowing to record police violence against African Americans in the United States..

Last Monday happened again and the city of Minneapolis, in the northwest of the United States, has been filled again with protests and violent clashes with police over the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American.

“It is cruel how he died," the mother of his 6-year-old daughter Roxie Washington told Houston Chronicle.
“It's been stolen from my daughter," he said.
In fact, in 2017 and early 2018, Floyd had also served as a security guard at the Salvation Army's Harbour Light Homeless Shelter in Minneapolis.
“How tragic and sad all this is," said Brian Molohon, executive director at the charity. You need to be a special type of person to work in an emergency shelter. It's really hard to see the anguish every day," said Molohon.
“I have no doubt that George, like many other hostel workers in our community, had a heart that cared about people and our community."
Former NBA star Stephen Jackson showed himself on Instagram discomforted by the loss of what for him was a brother.
Both were very close friends and used as a nickname the word “Twin".

Obviously, police used way to much force on him and that's terrible! Without a doubt!! But let's not forget, among other crimes he committed, he also robbed a pregnant women. I guess she begged for her life too... But te media won't talk about that part. He wasn't the sweet guy they want us to believe...
