A few days ago I was tempted for a walk through the #Beekbergerwoud .

Once the last primal forest of the Netherlands, this former agricultural area that lies just south of Apeldoorn already develops into a varied nature area where you can walk.


For about 8,000 years, the Beekbergerwoud remained intact.Until in 1871 the last tree was felled.There was an agricultural area with meadows and fields.Nature Monuments started in 2006 with the restoration of the area, trying to bring back some of the fairy-tale wilderness.
