Following an article in the Volkskrant which mentioned the average age of corona victims, I was curious to see what things are going on in Romania. The average age was over 80 in both the Netherlands and Italy. I must first mention that I was too lazy to look up the data of all victims in the press releases of the Ministry of Health. It was the 46 last deaths, about 1/5 of the total.

Here, too, the well-known picture of significantly fewer women than men and almost anyone with underlying medical problems. Since almost everywhere 65+ is maintained as the hazard zone, it was striking that women were more represented in the group below 65 than above. A second striking fact was both a 38 year old woman and a 53 year old ambulance brother had no underlying problems.

Of the 46 deceased, 18 were under 65. More than 1/3. Over 80 it turned out to be 9.

The largest group, 16 people, turned out to be between 60 and 69 years old.

The average age of the deceased was 62.7 years. Of course, with only 1/5 of the data, these are not certain facts, but it does show that Romania differs from countries such as the Netherlands and Italy in this case.

Part of the difference will certainly lie in the fact that life expectancy in Romania is significantly lower than, for example, in the Netherlands. On average, this is 81.3 years in the Netherlands and 75.01 in Romania. However, the difference of 6 years does not explain the difference of 18 years between the average age of death.

@Soberana Ik had het even opgezocht. Veel Afrikaanse landen zitten rond de 60jaar of zelfs nog flink daaronder.
