Many of us make the mistake of not taking this aspect into consideration, letting it take a long time before we decide to maintain and wash our brushes, resulting in bacteria and mold that accumulate there, affect the health of your skin and even spread infections. It has even happened to us that sometimes we share these brushes with others whom we can affect, or that they affect us.
A clear example of this was the case of model Anthea Page, who after four days of work in a parade and an unhygienic routine by her makeup artists, contracted an eye infection. The model, through her letter on Instagram, wanted to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness when it comes to makeup.
Did you know that facial skin is the one that is most exposed to dust, pollution and any particles that are in the environment, so it can be applied to the brush when applying makeup (and vice versa). It is also essential to keep the brushes clean so that our skin enjoys better hygiene.
How often do you need to wash your brushes?

You should wash them every two or three days (and more if you share them with someone). But you can understand that we can't find the time to spend a few minutes washing them. I assure you, it won't take you more than five minutes. Now that is an option for you, because you should also consider the quality of the brush, to decide if you do it less often, by virtue of the same being of lower quality.
How do you need to wash them?

Very simple, you just have to use soap and water. Those bars of soap they sell in any supermarket. Yes, those. By the way, a mistake to avoid is to wash the brush face up, that is, do not let water fall directly into the brush. If this happens, it is harder for it to dry out and it may result in mold. That's why I leave you these tips:
• Moisten the brush, horizontally or face down.
• Pass it several times over the bar of soap and over the palm of your hand or on a special brush that foams. Do this until the foam comes out clean, that is, it does not release makeup.
• Rinse the brush thoroughly removing any soap residue and pat it dry on a towel or toilet paper.
• Let it dry flat for a couple of hours or three. Simple, isn't it? If you are still lazy about this process, there are brush cleaners on the market.
