How to do the float technique

The float technique is ideal for giving light, shadow or reflections, in a single brush stroke.

Float Technique

To carry out the float technique, we need angular brushes.
Water.
Absorbent paper or cloth.
Painting different shades.
A ceramic or dish, you can also use disposable aluminum plato or piece of foame.

The technique is very simple. We need to load with paint only one angle of the brush and the other angle with water

To use it correctly, moisten the brush with water and drain with absorbent paper. Then, half the brush is loaded with the color we are going to use.
We download it on a ceramic plate, or it can be disposable anime plate. Anyone serves.

It is necessary to brush repeatedly on the ceramca, until the desired gradient effect is achieved.

Next, it is applied over the area of the work we are doing, considering that if you use an angled brush, the longest angle always goes over the edge.

Note: If at the end of the float you notice that the effect is not the desired one, let it dry well and repeat the operation until the desired contrast is achieved.

If the paint seems run, it has an excess of water, if on the contrary, the stroke is heavily loaded with paint, it is because water is lacking.
