The Hungarian Peninsula of Tihany
The richest area in the whole Balaton region must be the small but fine little town of Tihany. The inhabitants of this village have the highest income of all Hungarians, which is reflected in the sky-high local real estate prices. The village is spectacularly located on a peninsula on the north side of Lake Balaton. Because of this beautiful location, which gives the best panoramic views of the whole Balaton area, it is for many photographers the ultimate dream. Especially the spectaculair Sunsets and Moonrisings are favorite holiday pictures for many.

The centre of Tihany is dominated by a majestic 15th-century Benedictine abbey, the last resting place of Saint Andrew. The church itself was built in Baroque style in 1754. Together with the abbey, which is very important in historical and cultural terms, it is still a popular tourist attraction. What many might not know but certainly is worth mentioning is that Tihany is also well known for his echoooo, which was the impetus to the creation of several well-known poems in the 18th century. So fill your lungs with fresh Balaton air on site and do a practical test!
