The previous part of this pond mystery

 

Two light splashes sound as the lead-weighted hooks of the rods hit the surface of the water and sink steadily to the bottom of the pond. With a tension bitten face, the cords are slowly overtaken again, where these occasionally remain tightly tense, and then suddenly shoot loose with a 'twing'. Then it's hit.

“I got a bite!”

The tip of the rod bends dangerously if the cord is overtaken further.

“Well, well, no matter what I caught, it's not easy to surrender.”
