When I was fifteen years old, I got piano lessons from a teacher who plays blues and jazz music
knew to appreciate. Regularly next to the classic pieces I studied, she slipped
some boogie woogie, blues songs and jazz music.
I also heard for the first time about the song House of the Rising Sun that I heard from her
got. I played the notes that were there and the song grabbed me right away..
It's a sensitive, sad song actually, but so beautiful and restrained.
I brought him out again 32 years later this piece of music.
Still in my possession when I got it from her back then.
Today I not only played neatly the notes as they stood, but I laid my
feeling in the song and so my own improvisation flowed out.
I'm still thankful that she gave me the song back then and let it be taught.
After 32 years it evokes a memory after that time when I was fifteen years old and I see
me still sitting next to her behind the wing.
Good old memories.
