Kinni and Ka (4)
Kinni seems to be very pleased. She whistles a cheerful tune.
However, Ka feels less and less comfortable even though he tries not to show that. “Why are you so cheerful?” he asks.
'Just because I'm here with you, 'she just answers. “And yesterday I really had a cannibal day!” adds them to it.
“Then why?” asks Ka.
“Because I let my first big catch slip through my fingers in a month.”
“What did you almost catch?”
“Some tourist,” Kinni says. “He was nice and tall. I could have done it for at least a week! '
'Gosh, 'says Ka, 'so you're extra hungry now.'
“You can say that. The only thing I got my hands on was his backpack. Such a stupid orange thing. I think he was a Dutchman.”
