There is also a chestnut tree in the park near the forest. I took this photo there on a fall day. Beautiful crafts all and shared!

Fun idea with those chestnuts. In the south of France, children often paint the white back of the chestnuts in a certain colour to play with it.

I have seen hundreds of them, both the horse and the edible chestnuts. But did you know that wild (horse) chestnuts are actually slightly toxic, they contain a chemical known as aescin, which can cause vomiting and even paralysis. So be sure to warn the kids... Show more

I have never had the joy of going to a forest but I think the idea of filling a bag with castanets is great
