Leonie can't sleep
#Leonie is a woman in her 40s, she could be your neighbor. After her divorce, she builds her new life. With neighbor Mandy she has dinner appointments of the good kind: Mandy cooks! Love also comes around the corner again, with all the consequences that this entails..
At home, behind her own front door, Leonie landed back on Earth. What happened? What happened? With her fingertips, she touched her lips. She had just kissed Mandy! With a woman! As if frozen, she was standing there in her hallway. She, Leonie, had kissed a woman. And it would have been so nice! Part of her wanted to go back, back to Mandy, to her soft, sweet voice, her loving hands and those warm lips. But she didn't. Her rational part won. Yet she stood there for a long time in that corridor, as if she was at a crossroads and had to decide what to do.
She drank a glass of water and went to the bathroom, and as she undressed, she realized that she would not be able to sleep at all, and so she put on her yoga pants and the big sweater she reserved for pyamadas. She poured another glass of water and sat down on the couch with a fleece blanket. What happened? What happened? Her life had run off the rails. All of a sudden, she saw all the images in front of her. Her children. How was she supposed to tell her kids? What if she had a real relationship with Mandy? Her and Mandy. Is that what she wanted? Her children would shoot her! And Julia... that poor Julia who had a hard time with Erik's girlfriend. What was she supposed to think if her mother was with a woman... no, she couldn't! She couldn't and shouldn't have a relationship with Mandy! And Erik... she had just lectured him that he didn't take his children into account and that he had to notify her if there were any major changes in his life. Soon she had to inform him of the fact that his ex-wife was now in a relationship with a woman! Again, Leonie shook her head. It just couldn't. She was sedated on the couch.
She wanted her to cry. The tension out. Her head was so full, it seemed to explode. On the one hand, she saw all the people she loved and who knew her as she was, and on the other, there was Mandy, who lured her to a whole new adventure. A life without hardness and cold, a life full of love and affection. For the umpteenth time, she shook her head. It just couldn't and was not allowed. She had three kids! This just couldn't happen!
So she sat on the couch for hours, pondering, shaking her head. Eventually, she fell asleep under her fleece blanket. She woke up halfway through the morning with a headache. She should have been at work long ago! But she could not think at all and decided to report herself ill. She was far from being thought out.
