Leonie is not handy
#Leonie is a woman over 40, she could be your neighbor. After her divorce, she builds her new life. With neighbor Mandy she has dinner appointments of the good kind: Mandy cooks! Love also comes around the corner, with all the consequences that this entails.
A reaction could not be left out of course. Erik was angry. There were some things bought, just for the fun, stuff that wasn't paid from the child's bank account, but that were just extra. He felt that his partner had a right to bond with his children during the time they were with him. Leonie was the one who pulled the family apart, and now she wouldn't have to whine about the consequences. Point. It was the consequences of her choice. Leonie decided not to respond. Meanwhile, she had realised that her message had not been useful, she still did not like it, but she also understood that she did not have much to say about it.
She also tried to soften her first reaction to the children. She had asked interested about Suzanne, what the children thought of her and how they had found the shopping. Julia hadn't forgotten Leonie's reaction, she was on her guard. Martijn quickly abandoned that and told me about the fries they had eaten after which Ismay added that there was also a soft ice cream. Leonie held her face in the fold convulsively, but preferably she would have become angry or even burst into crying. She saw the whole movie in her head, that young friend of Erik who was playing a little nice weather with her kids!
Ilse had called in the evening. Leonie had walked out for a while, she didn't think it was necessary for her children to come along about Ilse's divorce process. Vincent had left half an hour earlier with two bags of clothes and his laptop. He was supposed to stay with his parents for the time being while Ilse stayed in their home with the children. But in the end it would come down to Ilse having to move. For now this gave some rest, although the children were very upset when they had told that Dad was going to live with Grandpa and Grandma for the time being. They had asked with frightened eyes whether they would divorce, and Ilse had answered in the affirmative with a lump in her throat. She had watched Vincent and saw that he too was quite upset. Leonie recognized it. That would have been the hardest moment in the whole process, the moment they told the kids.
By now it had become a habit. After the phone conversation with Ilse, Leonie had checked on Whatsapp to see if she had a message from Mandy. But again there was no message.
