At least shelf life until. to be used until. and a date on a package. That's so far. Use until yesterday? Hmm, no more so actually, according to the manufacturer. Best before yesterday? Take a look and smell and judge for yourself if you're going to eat it. So something. But how long can you keep something after opening? I took the test on the sum.

My refrigerator as a guide

I dive into the fridge and see different packaging. That's what I call; Crystal Clear, green pesto, lube cheese and filet americain above headline picture you can see what I found there. Basically everything is 'limited shelf-life'. But Filet americain I don't leave for a week when it has arrived. Unlike the Crystal Clear, I drink it easily in 2 weeks.

The Research

Well, research. Everything starts with Google of course. Google guides me through various search terms to various forums, where questions like 'How long can I keep this sauce' and 'Can I eat the sambal I opened 3 months ago?'passing the revue. Then I will be on the Nutrition Center website. There's a tool find, what you can simply type in which food it is about and then see how long something is shelf life. To keep it with my own products, I 'throw' my products into the tool. Let's see what happens.

As shown above images; limited shelf life is for Grease Cheese 1 week, pesto 4 days, for Crystal Clear 3-7 days and for Filet americain 2 days.

Conclusion

Honestly, I can't do much with it, with the term “limited shelf life”. It will be a legal thing, that term on packaging. A standard phrase that ensures that if you got sick of it, you can never say that the package had a shelf life until January 1, 2020.

So people, back in time, when watching, smelling and tasting was very common.
