Make your own Irish Coffee at home
The Irish coffee does not owe its name to the fact that it was invented by the Irish in Ireland. The coffee is called Irish coffee because it is made from coffee with Irish whiskey. You can prepare the Irish coffee in many different ways. I myself like this variant the best.
How did the Irish Coffee originate?
The Irish coffee was invented by Joe Sheridan, the man who stood behind the bar at the airport in Toynes. This was the case in 1942 when Joe Sheridan came up with the idea of #koffie something stronger. He saw many tired faces coming by who came for a cup of coffee at the bar. The passengers did this to stay awake and not fall asleep. Joe Sheridan then figured out that he had to give the passengers something stronger than just a cup of coffee. How did the passengers get a cup of coffee with a dash of Irish whiskey in it? Later this is made more delicious, as we know the Irish coffee today. Even though there are different kinds of Irish coffee in the catering establishments.
What do you need to make an Irish coffee: whipped cream, coffee, Irish whiskey, brown sugar, cocoa powder and an amaretti biscuit. Do not use fresh whipped cream from an aerosol can. This quickly collapses on the hot coffee.
- Beat the #slagroom hand well stiff. This will take about a half liter of cream and stir well about 10 minutes. Then put the whipped cream in the refrigerator and let it cool well in the refrigerator.
- Use the brown sugar to make a sugar syrup. You can also easily buy ready-made in the store. Put a cup of water and a cup of brown sugar in a saucepan and let it boil for a while. Stay with it and stir regularly. Otherwise, the sugar can start to burn and it will not be tasty anymore.
- Pack an Irish coffee glass put 90ml strong filter coffee in, 45ml Irish #whisky and 15ml of sugar syrup. For best results, warm the glass under the tap with hot water. This keeps the coffee warm longer as soon as the cold whipped cream goes on. Stir them well together. Do not pour the glass too full if you want to use another glass there should be about a thumb width left for the whipped cream.
- Then put 2 or 3 tablespoons of the cold whipped cream from the refrigerator into the glass. Finish it with an amaretti biscuit and some cocoa powder and feast.
