Making jewelry is fun to do and you create your own accessories with it. This fun set of Totum is a combination. On the one hand, string beads into a bracelet or a chain. And on the other hand also figurines of shrink plastic color and let shrink in the oven. Children like this very much to do. And you choose how you make your bracelet or necklace look! Below you can read the report of the experience at Ineke van der Linde. She was allowed to work with children in her host parents' care!
Ineke tells:
A girl of just 6yrs starts with coloring a figure. (do this on the rough side of the shrink plastic!) This
should be as 1st, as this becomes the center of her bracelet. She has beautifully colored the butterfly. Then it can be in the oven. The oven must be preheated to 170 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Place the figure with the shiny side down on a baking paper on the baking tray in the middle of the oven. The figure should be 2 to 7 min in the oven (depending on the size). As you look, it shrinks. It's a fascinating sight. As soon as the shrinkage stops, the oven can turn off. Just wait a little while to get it out of the oven. It's hot!
Then you will measure and cut 2x 45cm rope. This is going very handy. A small ruler is drawn on the side of the instruction sheet. Then tie a string on either side of the figure and then you can start with the beads.
When you put the beads in the boxes in the supplied blue plastic and you want to unpack one, the beads fly in all directions. We put them in a bowl with raised edge. You can try to string the beads by hand. Or to put the string in the bead while the bead is still in the bowl. The beads are mini beads.
This girl liked not only stringing, but also stringing a shape into the bracelet. Keep it on the wrist every now and then, when it's long enough. Then there is 1 half ready.Now it is carefully beware blown. The other half wants to make them equal to the first.
Then the bracelet is finally ready! Didn't it turn out beautiful? You can now put it on your own wrist like a beautiful bracelet. Or your doll has a beautiful necklace.
