Mandy is a drowned cat
#Leonie is a woman in her 40s, she could be your neighbor. After her divorce, she builds a new life with her three children. Her parents live nearby and her sister is expecting her second child. Her friend Ilse has relationship problems and her neighbor Mandy has dinner appointments of the good kind: Mandy cooks!
“What a cool uniform!” Julia exclaimed when Mandy entered the room. Mandy smiled. “Yes, I just came from work,” she said. She sat down on a chair at the dining area. “What do you want to drink?” asked Leonie, who was still in the doorway. “A wine would be great!” Mandy said. Leonie looked at her for a while before she disappeared into the kitchen. Mandy had a bit of the look of a drowned cat, except that it had not rained at all and Mandy wasn't wet either. She went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. They put it on the dining table and sat down on one of the other chairs. Julia had apparently also been frightened off by Mandy's appearance, who had gone to her room. Martijn was still sitting in front of the television.
“Oh, delicious.” Mandy said as she brought the wine glass to her mouth. “I was ready for this.” Leonie took a sip of her wine. Obviously something had happened, Mandy was pretty upset, but she didn't dare ask about the reason for Mandy's visit. “I had a day,” Mandy started. “I had a trip to Barcelona, I always hate that kind of flight! People who do a city like that for a weekend, they all don't have checked baggage, so all the luggage racks are full of just too big bags. And on the way back, it's all a lot worse. Bags full of tax-free drinks and way too many souvenirs, you can't turn your butt on a plane like that. They are all tired and irritated and think that you serve them on their beckons. And then I didn't have a nice crew on that flight...” Mandy dropped a silence, but she did radiate more peace now that her irritations had been thrown out. “Oh yes, we all know that,” said Leonie comforting. Meanwhile, she looked at Martijn and signaled with her eyes to him. When he didn't react immediately, she said, “Mart, are you going to bed? It is tomorrow early day again”. Sighing, Martijn disappeared to his room.
“It was horrible colleagues, especially that pilot, that's such an upturned macho who thinks that every flight attendant falls into love for him. And because I don't, sir is offended, especially now that he has thought that I like women,” Mandy said. “Oh, yeah, you let these arrogant guys go. Next time you have another crew, right? Or will you have a return to Barcelona with the same club tomorrow?” Mandy shook her head. “No, fortunately not, tomorrow nothing”.
After three wines, Mandy got up to move to her own apartment. Leonie was also happy with that, because her alarm clock went early tomorrow. She walked with Mandy down the hall. At the door, Mandy turned around and gave Leonie a kiss on her mouth. Immediately after that, she closed the front door behind her, leaving Leonie altered.
