Update on the strawberries: the wonder of rain!

I wasn't planning on updating much, but rather at the end with a series of photos, but this incredible thing happened and I just have to share it.

In Cape Town unlike the rest of South Africa we don't get rain in summer, our rain is in winter just as most of you are use to it.

So given the fact that it rained all day yesterday after weeks of dry periods, I decided to move plants out into the rain.

So on one picture, is the before I put the pots out in the rain, you can see it is turning a little red, the other was today's. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed this could happen over night.

Amazing, what a difference rain can make.

I also had to hold the strawberry up because the weight is weighing it down.

The tomatoes had a football related injury, thanks to my favourite footballer @Makayla 
Though I did not ground her haha, the little seedlings ended up on the ground, so I replanted them. Yesterday, there was nothing still, but this afternoon I noticed 4 little plants coming up. Let's hope the others survived the football practice.

I have around 60 strawberry plants at the moment in my backyard, can't take them al with me when we are moving, but that is oké 😉

@DiaantjesLife 🦋 It's crazy how it changed in one day, my kids were struggling to believe me, I had to show them the dates under the photos haha
The plants are looking really healthy now, so I hope we will get a whole bunch of them.

Strawberries here sow them directly to the ground not in pots, I see that your plant grows very fast will it be for the pot?

@MAGALY when my mother moved she left them behind in pots, the plants almost died and I decided not to replant them but rather see if I could rescue them. So i left it in pthe pots, I have 2 plants. But I think later on I will plant them into the ground or a much bigger planter.
