Harmke the oldest cow (25) in the Netherlands died. Harmke 309 was still really pampered last October when she turned 25, but soon after she quickly deteriorated and died.
Most cows in the Netherlands do not grow older than a j years or seven , Harmke 309 last gave milk five years ago but produced more than 135,000 litres of milk and 10,000 kilograms of fat and protein . She also got 14 offspring .

Mother cows that are relegated to milking machine. It starts at the birth of a calf.

0 HOURS OLD
A cow only gives milk when it gets a calf. To give milk continuously, she gets a new calf every year. Every cash cow you see is pregnant or just given birth. The calf is an unnecessary residual product. Only 20% of calves born on the farm stay alive for milk production. The rest goes to a meat calf company to be fattened fat.

1 HOUR OLD
Immediately after birth, the farmer takes the calf away from his mother. They'll never see each other again. The first weeks of his life, the cow baby is in a calf gloo. only. He drinks artificial milk from a bucket. His breast milk is for human consumption.

2 WEEKS OLD
After two weeks, the calf goes to the meat calf farm with hundreds of peers in the truck, where it is fattened for slaughter. The calf is standing alone in a cage here for weeks. He gets a bucket of artificial milk and some solid food twice a day. Grass - its natural food - never eat the young grazer. The unsuitable diet causes anemia and stomach and intestinal disorders. This is how veal is made clear.

2 MONTHS OLD
After six weeks, the calf goes to a group booth. With five others in a tight space on a hard grid floor without straw. Grazing and frolicking in a meadow is not included. Play doesn't work either, because it slips on the smooth floors. The calf never comes out, never smells fresh air and never sees daylight.

6 MONTHS OLD
Due to the many germs, low resistance, poor housing and unhealthy food, the calf does not stand a chance against diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia. In his short life, he is treated with antibiotics at least two or three times. Within a year, he goes to slaughter and his short and miserable existence comes to an end.

Would dairy farmers themselves secretly know that exploitation of animals is not good?

This kind of thing should actually get much more, much wider awareness. It could speed up the journey to, as Rudy calls it, an animal-less industry.
Animal suffering is unacceptable, in this case cows suffer a lot, and their lifespan is quite limited. It is a shame that the human being is capable of this
I wonder if it really goes like this everywhere, or if this is only done in the mass production of the big business. What about 'grass-fed cows' for example ?
Man, by the way, is the only mammal that consumes milk from another mammal. It's pretty crazy, if you think of it like that.
very interesting content, I didn't know some things, so thank you very much for sharing it with us, thank you very much for it
This post about cows is very interesting. There are countries where they are very abused, we must raise animal awareness for a better future
This is really interesting. I didn't know a lot of things when I have to be honest. Thank you for sharing
Interesting story with the life of a cow as a background. I don't know what to make of it. Replacing the cow with a machine is as much as replacing man with a machine as far as I'm concerned. But who knows: maybe we'll go there in the future.
I grew up on farms here in South Africa, been around cattle most of my life. I can't imagine cattle not being able to graze for at least part of their lives. If "Those Vegan Cowboys" can come up with something that smells, tastes and looks like a steak, then it is a case of the difference in price that will attract me.
magnificent post @Hans like that of goats, in them you bring to light the tip of the iceberg as far as the mistreatment of these animals is concerned
There is still hope for an animalless industry. Next generations will react with horror to the idea that previous generations ate animals.
OMG. I didn't know about this before. If i knew this i wouldn't drink milk anymore. Thanks for sharing this informative Blog.
What a terrible thing to read this, if people knew this, they wouldn't drink milk anymore, I think the farmers can handle their cows so much is terrible.
