We find this sad, while 1.7 million animals are slaughtered a day in the Netherlands. This site is intended to draw attention to the fact that one animal is prepared for slaughter under appalling conditions, while that would be unthinkable for the other animal. According to creator Molly Elwood, this has to do with the fact that meat products are no longer really associated with the animal it comes from: “If it's on your plate, you don't see the animal and then it's easy not to think about it any further. This website changes that.'
Elwood, a vegan himself, had been looking for a way to take action for a long time when the idea for the fictional dog breeding came about. At first, she only wanted to make bumper stickers, but that idea quickly grew into a website and accompanying social media. She understands why meat eaters in particular react so violently to the dog meat on offer: 'It's very disruptive, they take it very personally.'

The situation is sad because in many parts of the world you can see how some are prepared for horrible deaths.

Found on Elwood's site, I find this one very questionable and even hilarious: 'WHAT ABOUT GERMAN SHEPHERDS?
You're sick. German Shepherds are pets. COMPANIONS. We don't eat our friends'.
