I went to the physiotherapist this morning for lymphatic drainage therapy. I've had lymphatic edema on my right lower leg for almost 9 years. I wear compression stockings for that after a long time had been waited then and now I had about once every 6 weeks of lymphatic drainage therapy.
For about six weeks, I've had a bump just below my left knee on the inside. On the right he also sees, but a lot smaller and oh, that's my lymphatic edema leg, so I don't really look at it. But on the left is my good leg, and I find that strange. It's not gonna pass either. It will not get worse, but it will not be less and will become more sensitive.
I went to the GP a few weeks ago and he recommended more lymphatic drainage therapy, so now for the next 6 weeks I get once a week. She measured it so we can keep an eye on it, and she massaged it. I'm pretty tired a few hours after. I haven't had that in a long time after the drainage therapy and the fire in my knee cavities. Now I thought it might also be lymphatic edema, but my physiotherapist says it feels different. She also advised me to have a regular photo taken by my husband every week and possibly to consult with my internist soon. Unfortunately, this appointment has become a telephone call. But my physical therapist said that maybe I could email them to the hospital, and at least I'll have them.
Still a lot of uncertainty and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I notice that I'm less comfortable in my skin. I have a lot of discomfort and I want to know what it is with that leg and whether we are on the right track in terms of treatment. It's making me a little restless. Now there is a lot of tension coming up. At least we hope so, so distraction enough in the coming time.
