Now I'm far from being a climate activist. .
But the most recent climate report keeps me busy. Nature is so insanely beautiful and a lot of natural resources are just up for grabs in our forests, fields. and the whole ecosystem we live in.
In nature, we find all the answers for life, our health and our well-being.
And this, except for a comet that struck occasionally, has gone well for millennia. Nature took care of us and we humans were aware of our dependence on it. But somewhere during our development, we came to think that, with all our inventions, we could tame nature. How foolish. it now seems afterwards. Nothing could be further from the truth. every dike we build will eventually break nature. Every water area that we occupy will eventually reclaim nature.
When I look at the news like that, I get the feeling that nature is presenting us with the account of our own behavior. Our child. revolution, superior behavior and incredible stubbornness have made us face the greatest human disaster imaginable.
The only bright spot in this further horror story seems to be that since we set it in motion, we can also tilt it back. And yes, all of us can make a difference.
Okay, we are not the big players in the market. But if our ways of thinking and acting change, those big players must change with it. After all, every revolution starts from the bottom.
Together we can do this. Our actions, no matter how small, are desperately needed. and by applying them consistently, we also create awareness in our immediate environment and among our children.
Below you will find 5 steps that we as Jantje Modaal can all apply and will certainly make a difference. If, unfortunately, this is not a story of action and immediate results, but rather a long-term work.
1. USE WATER SPARINGLY. After all, the amount of potable water is becoming alarmingly smaller. Take a shower instead of a bath and a shower does not have to take 10 minutes to get clean.
2. EAT LESS MEAT AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS. Processing this requires so much from our ecosystems that it becomes simply unsustainable if we all continue to eat so much meat. Admittedly, I also like to eat a piece of meat sometimes. but every day you remove meat from your menu literally makes tons of difference, and if you're a little creative, you'll find affordable and tasty alternatives. Think of meat as a luxury product rather than a basic need.
3. LIMIT YOUR CAR TRAFFIC. Live closer to work, telework or go by bike or public transport more often. These exhaust gases really help our ozone layer to the knobs and soon we will all be in traffic jams.
4. LIMIT YOUR AIR TRAFFIC. Everyone likes to go on vacation and experience new things. But going on vacation by plane several times a year is really not necessary. If Covid 19 taught us anything, maybe it's that we can really have fun close by.
5. BUY SUSTAINABLY. Don't go along with the disposable culture and buy sustainable things that last just a little longer. Purchasing this is often just a bit more expensive, but you enjoy it so much more. However, as a single mom, I also know that on a small budget, this is a serious challenge. But I discovered the Kringwinkel (RD4), ie recycle a bit more often and often pumping up an older piece of furniture also gives extra satisfaction.
I could beat you to death with 10 other suggestions that I don't keep up with myself. but every beginning is a good start. These 5 things everyone can do seems to me and you don't have to ban everything very radically, huh. Just remember that every change, no matter how small, makes a difference. if we all do it.

1. We have to stay far away from the regular media, because they cause the culture of fear and do nothing but sow fear porn. What used to be ... Show moreWell, Mother Earth, huh?. There are a few things in the blog that I agree with and a few things I disagree with.😇
1. We have to stay far away from the regular media, because they cause the culture of fear and do nothing but sow fear porn. What used to be good is now suddenly bad.😉 So that's where it starts.
2. As far as water is concerned, there is more than enough of that. There is also plenty for showering, laundry and puddle. There are only shortages that the media tells us. Recently saw a news fact passing by that said: 'Dutch scientists have discovered water'.😅🤣😂🤣
3. Eating less meat is a story in itself, just look what a variety of offer one has today in the supermarket. Few people resist all that so-called goodies. But if it's the CO2 what you mean, CO2 is actually good for nature. There are plenty of examples of that, just look at the many fungi and mushrooms. Greatest poison makers ever for humans, but a blessing to nature.
4. Limiting our air traffic is something we don't control ourselves. It will not have an impact on the ecological footprint for the once a year that we fly to travel. The war industry and the useless movements of the ECO speakers by plane is another story.✈️✈️✈️
5. The only thing that needs to change, in my opinion, is the political system as we know it today, only then will one be able to introduce changes that Mother Earth can accommodate.
That is why people are tracking down all the places where you can set up forests.
I also saw other devices in the documentary.
One day, they may have to be deployed worldwide to prevent a total catastrophe. It's good that they already exist.
