One lesson I've learned as an amateur photographer is that beauty often lies in the most ordinary of places. The ones we've looked at a million times and no longer really see. Whether travelling to a different continent or just down the street, taking photos has helped me pay attention and remember those small moments that might otherwise have been forgotten.

Today I am starting a series to share some of the photos I have taken (and will continue to take) in which the beauty of everyday life, objects and scenes is on display. Here is the first entry:
