It's a picture I took when the #Lionsclub ZW-Drenthe financed the lighting of the Meppeler Tower and the Meppeler bridges to provide lighting in the dark days of winter. The objects are regularly refreshed in, among others, white, blue, orange and green.
The money for the lighting of the bridges has been gathered in two years by the Lions club in the region and sponsors. The service club officially handed over the lights to the municipality last night.
Mill: Not only the bridges are illuminated, also #molen The Vlijt at the port is now in the light. During the festive meeting, those lights also turned on.
Tower: In the background it was already seen that there was plenty of play with colors on the Meppeler tower. Because that characteristic object is also in the light.
Initiator Jan Kroezen: “We heard about the plan for the bridges, but thought: the tower should not stay in the dark.” Together with a light and sound company, he placed the lamps.
