The organization around the #F1race on Zandvoort wanted to provide commute rides on the beach for VIPs, drivers and team members. That reports NH News .
Nancy Wesselsz of The Spot Events tells NH News by e-mail “that we have decided not to go on the beach, but to use the road”. Wesselsz says that the exemption was already requested in October last year, when not much was known about the full mobility plan of the Dutch Grand Prix. Now that more is known about this, the route over the beach is no longer necessary. “The exemption was only intended as a contingency plan if, for example, it is not possible to fly”, says Wesselsz's statement.

The exemption granted to the organisation to drive through the resting area Noordervoort, which includes seals, caused a storm of protest.Petitions against the plan were signed 50,000 times in a short time.

Protesting works!
