Aachen Rediscovered

“Walking through a delightful city”

DIDI'ms world

I often come to Aachen because it is a wonderful city where you can shop with nice terraces spread throughout the city. It is a city with a lot of history, including the Cathedral church, the Elisensprings with thermal water and very nice statues. The Christmas market and the fair twice a year are always recommended and the many nice restaurants too. Aachen has a nice atmosphere, it is very pleasant for a city. From the Netherlands you are so there and although for me it is really very close (I could even walk there) it feels a bit like a holiday every time. If people want to visit Aachen for a day, they come to me for tips. But even I regularly discover Aachen again. Today I wanted to go for a walk but I also knew that Aachen had one of the rare Sunday days so I wanted to go hiking in Aachen. I also wanted to visit the Salvador Chapel which lies on a hill and where I have never been before. I went googling where I could park the car and I came across a walking route that included all the “I want” things and so I printed it out and put on my walking shoes.

If you want to see the hiking route please click HERE . The description is in Dutch but I must note that it is somewhat unclear here and there so I advise you to keep reading for clarity. They want to be so clear that sometimes it gets a little unclear. But having said that, it is a good starting point and certainly to do. The whole hike is 9.2 km long but can be shortened to 6.7 km. For people who are bad on their feet I would advise him against because at the end you have to “climb” a bit. Along the way you will find enough terraces in the city to take a break. It is a beautiful walk in which everything is: nature, culture and art. I took some pictures along the way but because I also passed a lot of places I already knew I didn't put them on the record. I realize now that for people who read this blog and do not know Aachen, this may be a loss, but I promise you that if you walk this route, you will not miss your eyes. It will be a concatenation of sights. Also, not all photos taken by me are worth publishing. I'm not a photographer and although the sun was shining wonderfully, it was sometimes a little wrong so I don't put these pictures to you either.

Do you watch what I have discovered?

I haven't heard about the place but it must be beautiful. Nice descriptive post
@Just read(en) Aachen is located in Germany in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is close to the Dutch border. A really great city in terms of nature, culture and art. It is a historic city. Thank you for the compliment.
