Last night Kareem,  the first horse rescued by Marte has died.
His image is the logo of this local organisation in Egypt.

It is with very heavy heart that I have to let you all know that very sadly Marte's beloved Kareem has gone. He was put to sleep last night after suffering colic and despite taking him to the Saqqara Equine hospital Marte had to make the devastating decision that he should be let go. May you rest easy Kareem there's plenty of ladies up there waiting for you. You'll always be with us in our hearts and will never be forgotten. (Emma).
