Today is the memorial of death. Today, unlike 'normal', the flag hangs half-mast all day.
So here too. It has been 75 years since many “outside and inland” gave their lives for our peace and freedom.
Even in those 75 years after that, there have been many cases for world peace during broadcasts and peacekeeping missions.
Hubby has experienced and experienced a few as well. We also commemorate those who have fallen there.

A bit of a weird time. Our 'storage obligation' or if you like 'NL stays at home' ensures that many commemorations
cannot take the form that lives up to their content.
No meetings and keeping a foot and a half. It goes and can't be together.
Even if we have to do 'all together'. The TV will have to connect us in this one, I think.

Our countryman has named the Corona virus “enemy of the state “and we are at war with it.
So some kind of “state of investment “has been proclaimed. We stay at home to protect the weak (s) and not let our health care go off the rails because they can't handle it anymore.
We are also (equally) deprived of many freedoms. Many professions can no longer be exercised,
and we usually work at home.

Maybe it's a nice way to think about what this/that does to you.
Not to be free, to be free and freely in motion. Not to be allowed to come together, not to be allowed to train together, but to do it together at a distance of one and a half meters from each other.
For us it is (I sincerely hope) temporary with a 'clear order'.
And here and now, we don't know. So also this uncertainty when and whether the 'normal' life can start up again is perhaps something that can be put into play in what it does to you.

We humans need prospects, we want to know what we are looking for.
And also touches and warm loving connections make us 'come home' in ourselves... brings peace (and spacious). Clarity gives space, and also gives a sense of freedom.
A guarantee on or for life... no! Life is not feasible, neither is health.
We cannot buy it off or buy it, let alone guarantee it.

Remembrance of death... those who died for our peace and freedom.
Perhaps we can feel this 'anniversary year' of intensity a little better?

Take care of yourself... and each other!
