Sinterklaas paper bag lightly tinkering
Larger children also like to make cozy Sinterklaas decorations! A nice idea is for example these paper bags with lights in it, for on the windowsill or to hang like a pendulum. At first I thought they were bags containing a battery-powered tea light. I was wondering if you had to open all the bags every night to click out all the batteries, hahaha! That is not the case, you know!

These super creative decorations were made by the kids in group 8, and the class was about silhouettes and then these craft talents made silhouette drawings on paper bags. The idea and the pictures were sent in by their teacher Clarinda Sunfield . And we are very happy with that! It's a great idea with which we can inspire other teachers, masters and all children. That's why we like to share this idea here!

The secret behind this decoration is a battery-powered LIGHT CORD. The paper bags are for sale at Jumbo Supermarket and cost only 1.50 for 60 bags. That's not the cost! All children make their own sketch with pencil on the pouch. With a compass you make a circle on the pouch. Then you pull over the lines with a black permanent marker and for the thin line use a fineliner. Then put a thick piece of paper in the bag, so that the black marker does not push through to the other side of the bag! Also color the parts with black marker. Cut 2 holes on the sides (at the bottom), there the string of lights goes through!

To give you some ideas, you can see here the drawings that the children have drawn. If you really have no idea what to draw, then you can print out and trace it. But I think something will come out of your marker once you sit down for it. It's easier than it looks, you know! A list of houses is made this way, also by you!
