Summer in France - day 19: valley-walk in Mirabel-et-Blacons
We have been in the sunny south of France for 19 days. Last night we sat outside on our terrace for a long time, enjoying a glass of red wine and a beautiful sunset behind the mountains.
After the pretty heavy walks of the past few days, we are thinking of a quieter hike for today. It's pretty hot. The temperature rises quite quickly to above 30 degrees and there is very little wind.
Mirabel-et-Blacons is only a 20-minute drive away. There we can do a signposted walk of a little less than 7 kilometers, without serious differences in altitude. The walk mainly runs through a valley, past vineyards and along the flanks of the hills around it.
Unfortunately, the lavender has already blossomed and disappeared everywhere in this region.

The village of Mirabel has been abandoned for a large part. It lies on a hill, where you can see mostly remnants of old houses and turrets. The village was abandoned by lack of water.
