May 18 is the day of the plant, which is brought to international attention. Plants are also quite fascinating, and there is also a dinamica in plants. Plants disappear and new species are added. Adjustments are made to the environment, the climate and the way they grow. The International Fascination of Plants Day is an initiative of the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO).

On the day of the plant, attention is drawn to the importance of plants and plant science for society. There is also attention for plant breeding, agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, forestry, environment and (sustainable) production of food, wood, paper and energy.

What interests me most is the natural vegetation, the dynamics and the power of nature to adapt to changes. Although I also love the diversity of the cultivated (garden) plants. What I think we should pay attention to is that the plants we put in the garden are still 'useful' for our gardeners. Are they edible, are they useful to nest in, can bees and bumblebees still reach the nectar and pollen? Otherwise, the diversity we create puts our own nature at risk. In the garden it is also best to use as much as possible native (originating in the country growing).
