Now I have been actively and intensively working on the Laakdal seed library for three years, and it is time to show how important this project is in various areas. Learning to collect your own seeds is essential, otherwise the seed industry will take over and decide which plants you can sow. By collecting seeds ourselves, we maintain the diversity of seeds and contribute to a sustainable future.

Local plants have already withstood the pests and conditions of the region, making them stronger and growing better in the same environment. By sharing seeds in your own region, we strengthen local biodiversity. So it is not only a matter of sustainability, but also of the resilience and health of our gardens.

Inclusiveness is another important aspect. Not everyone wants or can buy a whole pack of seeds. By exchanging seeds or offering them for free, we also help combat poverty. Plus, gardening offers many mental benefits. It's a way to unwind, relax and enjoy nature.

The seed library also has a social aspect. It brings people together. At the seed library, people can get in touch with like-minded people and talk about gardens, plants and more. This creates a community of people who share their love for gardening and support each other.
