Most of you will presumably think “yes” right now, and I did until a few days ago.
I never paid so much attention to the Kievit, I used to see the birds a lot, so for me they weren't special.
But when I walked in the Kennemerduinen earlier this week, and heard their call, they drew my attention more and more.

Because what is it really a beautiful bird!
With its beautiful plumage, the feathers that make the head graceful, but certainly also the “black” feathers, which turn out to be not so black at all, when the sun falls on it!

Did you know that the birds are related to the golden plover, or Loa, The Icelandic symbols for spring?
The first Kievitsei found is always a milestone in our country.
The egg is speckled, and is hardly noticeable in the grass.
There is a flower named after the egg, a germination egg, that is now in bloom in our garden.

Kievitts are actually just rainbow birds!
The animals were shy by the breeding season, but I managed to shoot a few pictures of them:
