Today I want to show you this drawing of mine and tell you some interesting facts about the origins of this character.


The name the Mad Hatter is based on English proverb “Mad as a hatter” (in translation to Dutch"As crazy as a hatter”).

But was the origin of this proverb?

In XIX century in England when making hats, the hatters used mercury. The fumes of mercury are toxic.
