An ice-breaking digital board game.
In this blog I'm going to talk about a social game I'm developing. I make this game as a school assignment, because I do a study in which new media plays a big role. The goal of the game is to get to know groups of acquaintances and/or friends better. They do this because the game will stimulate the narrative of deep stories. Of course you could play this 1 to 1!
What you see on the left is a first version of the game “Nutshell”. All this is digital and I'm still looking for creative ways to really bring this to life. The idea is that you draw a map around the neighborhood with a question, you answer it and then you get a reward. While playing the game you can take steps forward. But it's not just that!
When you come to a Mid-Life crisis box, there will be a Crisis Assignment which brings new actions on the table. Also there are some kind of “plague” cards, these are special cards. Where you can interrupt each other's story, or, on the contrary, allow someone to tell a story.
